heroclix: most broken tournament game

so i went to a tournament for the infinity gauntlet a week ago. it was a 700 point build team and i at the last minute made a avengers team. it was a pretty formidable team, i had nova, hawkeye, captain marvel, iron man, hulk, amadous cho. it was made to smash stuff. first opponent i fought had a 600pt Galactus ,amadous cho and an astral dr.strange. I've taken on the old galactus pretty easily so i was confident but then he told me about the rest of his force. first off he gave the infinity gauntlet to galactus and then he informed me of galactus'special herald power. the trait lets galactus bring a character outside of his force or from my team of 150pt or less and make it galactus herald. the herald gets power cosmic and gets a plus 1 to all its stats. so in a sense he was able to play a 850pt team in a 700 pt tournament.
the herald he choose was 150pt superman. i didn't even touch that superman who was just hypersonicing around picking up objects and smashing my team. i pushed to running shot bot iron-man and nova they both missed and were taken off later. i got one hit to galactus thanks to hawkeye but then that gave galactus a revenge token which gives his herald a free action to do whatever. and that's how hulk died in one hit.
the only character i was able to KO was astral dr.strange.
i had too grit my teeth and shack that guys hand, it sucked.
and i was not the only one from my group of Friends who fought that guy. they all lost. but one of my friends which will not be named in this blog because i don't think he would aprpreciate that told that guy to his face that he was running a 800pt team in a 700 pt tournament and he shouldn't be so happy about his victory. I'm paraphrasing so it doesn't sound as cool as how he said it.
that galactus is not built for tournament play like that and that night proved why. even the dormammu has a herald thing but the character has to be part of your force. if the herald power at that low of points it should have been like dormommu's it would have fixed the broken aspects of the galactus.

the watchmen fast forces

so heres a small review of the watchmen fast forces that i've had for a while. and i have played a few games using these characters and one using all of them. the team is 550 points. a team for any occasian that is pretty versitle.

when i played this team i fought a batman character team. and counting up how much my characters cost he was above 50 points.

the game was a while a go so ill give you highlights
* Rorschach's indominable helped a lot because i got him next to nightwing keeping the pressure on him. and rorschach's poison let me damage him cause i missed lots of rolls.

*my oponent was focused more on Dr. Manhattan. he used outwit on his prob

* Nite Owl's carry ability is very usefull to get into the fight quick

* silk spectre's charge made her the first rush into the fight and because she was close to nite owl she also had flurry


and that was some highlights. i can't talk to much about comedian because he was swiftly taken out by the question and batman beyond. and nite owl died fighting nightwing before dr manhatten took him out. Ozymandias was fighting robin the whole time.

all and all this team isn't bad but you need team work more then anything for this team. because apart the dwindle in effectivness except for dr. manhatten who is good on his own. comedian in theory is good but most of the time he gets ko'ed quick. if you don't have it the fast forces are a good (and cheaper) alternative to the set.

infinity gauntlet day 1

ok so heres my particapation prize for the first infinity gauntlet tournament. i lost 3 matchs and got one bye which technically is a win but all the games i played in i lost. it was actually really fun i got to fight galactus and was one turn from killing him and bombastic bag-man. would have been nice but it was last action and i couldn't do anything about it,at least the other gut didn't win though.

in this tourney we had 900 points to make a team and we had the chance of fighting galactus (who isn't scary after the first time you fight him).

we practiced at home cause i have a roommate who has galactus and it saw how to fight him. i got the kill shot with vet ray and even took a pic of it.




hopfully next week i do better ill talk about that senerio later

heroclix: awesome feat card combo

I haven't used feat cards often because I'm a pretty recent heroclix player but now that I have been introduced to older things like bystanders and feats I'm taking full advantage of them.

last game I played was 2000 PTs so I was able to use 200 PTs worth of feats.

Superman , superman set
- fortitude
- shellhead
- damage shield
this was killer for superman who I keeped in the back hypersonicing everyone. not even doctor strange with his all seeing eye could do anything affective.

Vet Deadpool, mutant mayhem
- automatic regeneration
Made an already useful character more useful. in a previous game it saved him from scandal savage when I was healed and able to do blades/claws.

Heroclix : 2000pts is a lot battle report

So it's 1:30 and I just won a 2000 point heroclix game way of forfeit. We started Friday and have just finished on Sunday morning. He had five characters left and was just tired so he game me the victory.

His team had
- black Adam , superman set
- wizard shazam, brave and the bold
- Abin sir, green lantern movie
- Isis, 75th
- Osis, 75th
- dr.strange, secret invasion
- wonder women, superman set
- amazom x3 , brave and the bold
- wonnder women, blackest night
- wonder women, arkham asyhelm
- cloak and dagger, secret invasion
- wiccan,avengers set

he relalized he still had a chance especially because the wizard was at full health but was way too tired and everyone else was hurt.
I'm tired so I'll just talk about so highlights
- killed arkham asylum wonder women my second turn. outwited her defense and hypersoniced with superman. then outwitted again with lex Luther and then running shoot with iron patriot. 8 damage

- found that flashpoint aguaman's geyser power is awesome. Using to get flashpoint wonder women, black conary and psycho pirate into water terrain and do three damage that isn't an attack so no super senses or prob

- I forgot me lex was tapped and attacked cloak and daggers who had mystics so I got 2 un avoidable damage and took lex off hypersonic.

- he rolled snake eyes with black adam twice. leaving him open to outwit where I did 5 with superman.

- I had black Adam tied up with my spider-man from web who has that amazing super sense that has a 50/50 chance of dodging attack. which I did for 4 turns before dieing.

- had 3 perlex with deadpool, sparton, and Johnny quick.

- Johnny quick with 13 movement hypersonic and perplex took out Wiccan and violet lantern wonder women

-at one point he had 3 probability control's

-he always had the wizards all seeing prob

fun game but really tiring. next time I just wanna play 600 pt game. this was interesting and fun but this took way to long.

so before i got my superman brick i got the watchmen fast forces. and knew automaticaly knew what i wanted to do, make a rorschach/deadpool duo heroclix peice! above is my sketch and my pic of my actual clix. for the deadpool my model was ultimate spiderman.( that's who I'm gonna re color)

bizarro-girl heroclix! LE figure

okay so i wasn't sure if i wanted to go to any heroclix tournaments to get LE ( these are clix that you can basically only get from tournaments or if your in the know with someone). now i know i want to get something. before the only thing i may have wanted to get would be manhunter grandmaster, but thats basically just a trading peice for me(though he is a tough SOB). this is cool obscure one issue character and they did her justice, awesome. i especially like her incape. this set looks amazing, so marvel better step up there game with hulk set.

i forgot darkhawk! he's a new warrior!

i forgot darkhawk from the avengers set! when i was talking about my new warriors heroclix i had forgotten about darkhawk

he was in the new warriors too but i just completely forgot. its not like he is a bad character or even a horrible clix but it completely went over my head.
actually the clix as actually not to bad for back up he has leap/climb, energy explosion, and toughness with 3 damage first clix. not bad and is versatile for range or close-range. in the middle he has regen if you wanna bring him back to top health easier. after that he a lot better for range he has energy shield/ deflection and penetrating/psychic blast.
if you are newer to heroclix and want a character that is simpler to use and can hold his own in lower point game.

new warriors heroclix!!!

this is the new warriors!! thats right the heroes for the 90's and they are here now in the form of heroclix the game that is growing into one of the premiere board based strategy games. i love it and it can only be rivaled by d&d. the new warriors being one of my favorite teams especially when they first came out i gathered them from various sets and have made the original line-up and scarlet spider who was there for a short time. I do find it kinda messed up that that these are basically all the new warriors you can get at least in modern sets I don't know much of older sets. its still cool that you can make the original line up but there are others that i would also like turbo(either the boy,girl or a duo piece),rage(dude he is in the initiative!perfect timing!),silhouette, bandit(as night thrasher or bandit w/e).
while we're at it we need a night thrasher update his stats don't hold up to well as a vet. he is good but it can be reworked into something better i mean he did hold his own against punisher in a hand to hand fight. also quick thing about his stats if you use him for range you are stupid.
I can also stand for a new justice just because he has gotten better and he has become a good character. speedball would be cool but that isn't a must do thing for the future. thats all i got to say so to quote night thrasher at the end of issue one from the first series "thats it. end of discussion."
